M-16E Advanced Course in Experimental Microsurgery

Learning objectives

The course provides hands-on experience in vessel anastomosis and gives an introduction to experimental transplant procedures in the rat. In addition, video demonstrations and lectures are given by experts. Participants are offered special advice, mentoring, and training in their own microsurgical models.

The Association of Research in Surgery (ARS), the research section of the Swiss Surgical Society (SGC), organizes the 12th advanced course in experimental microsurgery. The course will be held at the University Hospital Zürich from 7th-11th November, 2016.

Content

The course provides hands-on experience in vessel anastomosis and gives an introduction to experimental transplant procedures in the rat. In addition, video demonstrations and lectures are given by experts. Individual mentoring to set up microsurgical models is also offered.

Criteria for the participation

Applicants who have experience in experimental surgery and are qualified to perform animal experiments (Modul I or equivalent) are encouraged to register through the official website of the Institute of Laboratory Animal Sciences (Module 16)

Accreditation

This course is recognized as continuing education in Switzerland by the Federation of Swiss Cantonal Veterinary Officers (VSKT)
Insurance Insurance is responsibility of each participant.

Course fees

The course is limited to a maximum of eight trainees. Acceptance is based on qualification and time of application. Cost for the entire course including documentation is:
CHF 800.- for applicants affiliated with a University
CHF 1'500.- for applicants from industry
